FAQ
Common questions
?Does Ninja support SSH keys?
Not yet. Ninja currently supports password authentication. SSH key auth is on the roadmap.
?Where are my passwords stored?
In macOS Keychain. They are never written to disk in plain text and never appear on the command line.
?What happens if a server’s host key changes?
Ninja refuses to connect and tells you the expected and the actual fingerprints. This is the trust-on-first-use protection working.
?Can Ninja connect through a jump host or bastion?
Not yet. On the roadmap.
?Does Ninja support port forwarding?
Not yet. On the roadmap.
?Does Ninja send any data anywhere?
No. See the privacy policy.
?My session shows “Disconnected.” How do I get back in?
Click Reconnect in the tab’s status bar. The tab stays where it is — only the SSH session is re-established.
?How do I grant Ninja access to a folder other than Downloads?
Click “Open Folder…” in the SFTP local pane. macOS will ask you to grant access. Ninja can then read and write inside that folder for the rest of the session.
